11. Solved

28Thirty. Don't you think it'll be perfect in Natasha? I'm thinking I'll make some modifications. Longer. Wider. Much wider. Kind of like Oblique, but less. Less seaming. Less pattern. Just less. Raglan sleeve, top down, all in one piece. All good.

10. What To do

With all this yarn?
I have 14 skeins of Adrienne Vittadini Natasha in Truffle. Of course it's Truffle. What other color would I have picked out for a throw on with jeans cardigan?

9. Oblique, You're Out

I don't usually give up so early on a knitted project, but my love affair with Oblique is over. I don't even like it any more. The middle lace section just doesn't look right. And I messed up the moss stitch and had to start over. Twice. I don't like to admit that it might have been too much for me, but I've only made two adult sweaters. Perhaps this was a tad aggressive for now. And the seaming? There was a ton of it. Plus, after looking at them on Ravelry, I think it's just too much sweater for me. So in the words of Heidi, "That means, Oblique, you're out."

On, and by the way, today's the first day of escrow. Looks like we might be making a you know out of the area. A you know? I'm not ready to say it out loud.

8. Offers

That's right. Offers. Plural. Can you believe it? I mean, it's a great house and we've put so much work into it (Ralph Lauren Suede in the half bath is really hard to apply). But in this market, we just weren't expecting that. Our realtor is totally working them both. Fingers crossed!

7. Jury Duty

While my jury duty case was originally explained to us as a Civil Rights case, it hardly lived up to the expection. Jury duty - even Federal jury duty - is NOTHING like Law and Order or the drama of the OJ Simpson trial. I kept waiting for the smoking gun. Didn't happen. We were able to reach a unanimous verdict and wrapped things up today. We even made the Long Beach paper. I still can't understand why they didn't ask if we had pets during voir dire. Big mistake.

6. Oblique

Monkeys are on hold, but look what I started.

5. Monkey Blocked

And not the good king of blocking. Blocked as in not making much progress on the Monkeys. I received a summons for Federal jury duty downtown and have been checking in for the past week. Since Tuesday I've actually been on a case and for some strange reason, they don't let you knit while court is in session. My lunch breaks, while an hour and a half long, were completely monopolized by my jury boyfriend (a big talker, slow walker IT manager for a major fruit company). For me, downtown may as well be Mars. I never go downtown. Never been to Olvera Street, MOCA, China Town. Sure, I've been to the Rooftop Bar at the Standard for drinks. Staples Center for shows. The Flower Market once or twice. But never just downtown to go downtown. We did manage to get big talker to sushi in Little Japan, but the walk was painfully slow.

Hopefully there will be Monkey business this weekend.

4.

We did it. Listed the house. The photographer used a wide angle lense, so some of the photos are a bit off, but I think it looks pretty good.

Maybe too good to sell.
